I have an eight pad controller and the first four pads are to select the Super 8 track (I'm in stereo) and the last four are for operations and effects. It's all so I can just focus on playing in my own time to start and then I can build from there. What I want to do is use Super 8 in "Sync: off" mode to determine my loop tempo (you also need to set the number of beats in the loop for this to work, and if it's not 4/4 you'll probably have to set that in the Project before-hand), and then when I push a button on my footpedal it makes sure the project transport is stopped, returns the project cursor to the beginning, deletes all tempo markers and/or previous loops that were dumped from Super 8 previously, and then adds the loops from Super 8 to the timeline and sets transport to play, now in sync with Super 8. Hopefully this will be helpful to someone else! It really took a lot of time just to figure out this one little thing and I can't believe no one else could've figured this out!įurther explanation of what I am doing here with the finished scripts/setup: The Super 8 receives the VK output just fine. As an alternate to pressing the button three times, there is also an action to wait for 0.5 seconds. I put this in the step after it initializes the markers, media, and cursor,Īnd before it starts the transport. ![]() *ps maybe with a combination of ReaLearn i can do it? I'm really at a loss, here, but come on it's totally possible all I want is to consolidate what I have working into one button! Just want it to work, and figure it's something maybe a lot of people might find useful. If there's a better way to do this, by all means tear my method apart. It works great! But what I'd really like is for it to be a three-step Cycle Action on the one foot pedal button. So far, I have this Cycle Action set up with a separate button on the LPD8, so I have to hit the pad on the LPD8, then step on the button on my 4-button footpedal to trigger "Add to Project", then hit the pad on the LPD8 a second time. _SWS_DELALLITEMS Delete all items on selected track(s) Here's the list of commands I've figured out so far in the Cycle Actions:Ĥ0617 Markers: Delete time signature marker near cursor What I want to do is have the first press stop the transport, go to the start of the project, delete any starting project marker, delete all media items, and THEN, on second press it should send CC 98 to Super 8 to trigger "Add to Project", then Transport: Play/Stop. ![]() The third button is where I'm trying to consolidate a couple functions with a Cycle Action. The second button is to trigger the "double-no-rep" function. I also have a four-button foot pedal, with the first button used to trigger "Record/Play Selected" in Super 8. Some set up notes: I have an LPD8 and I use its top four pads to select one of the Super 8's tracks. trying to set up a general template for using Super 8 as the main looper, but then also folding in the features of other looper VSTs I have on hand, such as Augustus Loop and mSuperLooper.Īnyway, a part of that is I want to use Super 8 in "Sync: Off" mode, making a loop by setting up the number of beats and hitting start and end to set the tempo, and then when I hit my pedal to "Add to Project", I want it to do a couple of things first, with the end goal of my being able to start projects from putzing around on my guitar and then building from an initial loop, all in real-time. ![]() I have been playing around with a couple loopers.
